The Staff Forum enables staff to hear about and discuss matters affecting our working experience and to influence decisions made by the University.
We have been running for over a year now and we need more members so that staff from all areas of the University are represented on the Forum.
The Staff Forum meets once a term to listen and respond to the ideas and opinions of staff, and to discuss matters that may affect their working experience. We bring ideas, questions and concerns to termly meetings, and take an active role in finding solutions. We comment on University proposals and are the University's representatives for providing information and consultation on matters that may affect staff on Grades 1-5.
The Staff Reps also meet together once or twice a term to discuss ideas and items that staff have brought to our attention.
Training is provided and we are introducing a buddy system so that all new members will be made to feel welcome. We usually serve for a term of two or three years (although we are able to step down during this period of time if we need to).
If you are employed on Grade 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 in one of the following areas, and are interested in becoming a representative you may nominate yourself or a colleague (having first asked their permission of course). We really value diversity and welcome expressions of interest from staff members from all backgrounds and employment roles, particularly sections of the community which are currently under represented on the Forum, including technicians, black, Asian and minority ethnic staff.
