Challenges to get you walking to work
Wednesday, 13 May 2015
This May there are TWO walking challenges to encourage you to get on your feet. Walk to Work Week and Beat the Streets.
You could sign up to both and get double points for the same amount of walking!
Beat the Street is a FREE cycling, running and walking initiative.
Players tap cards (like oyster cards) on Beat Boxes placed on lampposts. There are Beat Boxes throughout Reading and in the surrounding villages of Theale, Pangbourne, Mortimer, Burghfield and Woodley. When someone taps the card on the Beat Box it beeps and flashes. Tapping two or more records a journey, earns points for the player, their team and the overall community total.
All players can win prizes for themselves or for their chosen charity or community team (e.g. schools or the University). All players will be contributing to charity if the overall walking total achieved by June is high enough.
Collect your cards from:
- Whiteknights Reception
- RUSU reception
- IOE reception at London Road
Please help to promote the initiative by displaying this poster.
