Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Teaching and Learning appointed

Following a competitive process, Professor Gavin Brooks has been appointed as Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Teaching and Learning for a second period of four years with effect from 1 August 2015. Professor Brooks’ first period as Pro-Vice-Chancellor comes to an end on 31 July.
In addition to the other duties of Pro-Vice-Chancellors and members of the University Executive Board, Professor Gavin Brooks has a specific leadership in teaching and learning, including the student experience. He will work closely with the newly appointed Teaching and Learning Deans to provide strategic leadership and direction for all teaching and learning matters across the University.
Speaking on Professor Gavin Brooks’ appointment, the Vice-Chancellor, Sir David Bell said:
“I am delighted that Gavin Brooks has been appointed as Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Teaching and Learning. He will continue to build on the considerable activity that has taken place in the past four years. I look forward to continuing to work with him closely.”
On his appointment, Professor Gavin Brooks commented:

There remains much to be done over the next four years and I look forward to making considerable progress towards achieving our ambitions for T&L as well as contributing to the overall growth and strength of the University.”
