Complete In Brief survey to win book tokens
Friday, 03 July 2015
There are different ways in which you can learn about what is going on at the University of Reading. We're keen to know how In Brief works for you.
In Brief
In Brief is your one must-read of the month. Delivered to your inbox on the first Friday of the month, it gives you all the essential information (including new policies and procedures) you need. Stories are flagged ‘for action’, ‘for information’ and ‘nice to know’ so you can read as much as you want to. For colleagues without regular access to a computer, copies are put up on staff noticeboards. Electronic copies of all editions are posted on the ‘In Brief’ staff portal page.
Now that In Brief has been running for six months, we would like to understand how effective it is for you. Please take five minutes to complete this confidential survey by 16 July.
If you send us your email details at the end of the survey, you will have the chance to win £50 in book tokens.
Here's a reminder of our other main communications channels:
Staff portal
On average, we have five or six staff portal stories each week. Most stories focus on University-wide issues, although we welcome stories from individual departments and members of staff. Make the staff portal your home page. If you would like to share your story with colleagues, you can send in a short article and images to communications@reading.ac.uk . Our aim is to get your story up within 2-3 working days, if it is suitable for the portal.
Dept-secs
Dept-secs refers to ‘the departmental secretaries email list’. It is a channel of communication and should be used for official University business only. It is a timely way of letting people know about activities or events that are of interest to people across campus. Members of the departmental secretaries list can disseminate that information to staff and/or students within their departments as they think appropriate. Join the list now.
