Monday, 03 August 2015

Staff Benefits

The University is pleased to introduce a new employee benefit to help you plan and budget for your everyday healthcare costs.

With effect from 1 August 2015, we are working in partnership with UK Healthcare to offer all staff a healthcare cash plan scheme, which is designed to help cover your day to day healthcare costs and offers 100% cash back (up to policy limits) for a variety of different medical treatments including:

  • Dental check-ups
  • X-Rays and hygienist fees
  • Eye tests, spectacles and contact lenses
  • Medical prescriptions Complementary therapies such as physiotherapy and acupuncture
  • Health screenings
  • A stay in hospital by you or your child

Children (up to the age of 18) are covered completely free of charge. There is no need for a medical and there are no qualifying periods, allowing you to claim straight away and get immediate benefit.  A straightforward claims process means that claims are reimbursed within 48 hours.

Visit the website or www.reading.ac.uk/hr for more information and to download an application form.  View the benefits table to find out what’s covered under the plan and choose the level of cover that’s suitable for you. Contact Claire Eckett, HR Manager (Reward & Benefits)
