We need your plastic bags and milk bottles

Recycled basket

The University of Reading stand at the Royal County of Berkshire Show on 19th and 20th September is on the theme of sustainability. The Museum of English Rural Life (MERL) is running a children’s craft activity to make beautiful baskets from recycled materials and we need your help.

We’re looking for:

  • as many plastic carrier bags as possible, the more colours the better
  • 4 or 6 pint plastic milk bottles (washed out please!) and 2 litre water bottles

Think you can help? Please donate your items by 14th September as follows:

  • Plastic bags: send to the Events Office: 1.01 Miller Building, Whiteknights campus.
  • Plastic containers: Bring them to MERL reception (9am – 5pm, Mon-Fri), or contact events@reading.ac.uk for more information
