On y'bike for Cycle to Work Day at Whiteknights Campus - Thursday 3 September
Tuesday, 01 September 2015
If you cycle to work on Thursday 3 September, come along to Whiteknights House (foyer by Receipts Office) between 8.30am and 10.30am to receive your free breakfast voucher.
Cycle to Work Day is a national event that aims to encourage everyone to take to two wheels and cycle to work for at least one day.
Last year’s event saw tens of thousands of cyclists taking part nationally. Over a quarter of a million miles were pledged, nearly 7,000kg of CO2 were offset and over 12 million calories were burnt. You can pledge to ride at www.cycletoworkday.org and not only will you be doing your bit for the cause, but you’ll also be in with a chance to win some great prizes. Staff from any University of Reading campus can pledge their rides online to be in with a chance of winning prizes.
This is also an ideal opportunity to come along and find out more about the Cycle2Work scheme the University is running in conjunction with Halfords, who will be in Whiteknights House from 8.30am to 10.30am to answer any questions and give away some goodies. Through the scheme you can choose a bike and accessories up to the value of £1,000 and make savings of up to 40%. For more information visit: www.reading.ac.uk/benefitsplus
You can also get a check-up from Dr Bike on Cycle to Work Day, as he will once again be providing free bike maintenance. You will find him at Whiteknights House too.
