University of Reading ranked within top 200 universities worldwide

The University of Reading has been placed within the top 200 universities worldwide in the Times Higher Education World University Ranking 2015-16. The University has risen to the joint position of 164th, up from last year’s position of 201st -225th. The new ranking now places Reading within the top 1% of more than 20,000 universities around the world.
The improvement in our global position has also affected our UK ranking, with Reading rising 6 places from 33rd to 27th. Along with the wider global positioning, the University is now included within the top 100 global institutions for International Outlook, and has been placed 79th in the world and 27th in the UK. Reading has also ranked within the top 200 global universities for Teaching and Research; for Teaching, the University is placed at a global position of 175th and is 21st in the UK, while for Research, we are ranked as 183rd globally and 28th in the UK.
The profile of Reading has continued to improve over the year, as we saw with the earlier publication of the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide League Table 2016, in which the University moved up one place to 32nd in the UK. Placement within the QS World University Rankings also improved, with the University reaching a global ranking of 156th and a UK ranking of 25th.
