Careers & Placement Fair on Wednesday 28 October

Wednesday, 21 October 2015

Career & Placement Fair 2015

Next week, Careers will be hosting 93 graduate employers in the Palmer Building for the annual fair. Even if students are not sure where their future lies, this is the perfect opportunity to practise talking to recruiters, gather information and network. They may also discover employers who appeal and have roles to suit them.

Of those attending:

  • 75 will consider any discipline (the employer’s industry does not necessarily represent the vacancies they have)
  • 46 offer internship opportunities
  • 24 have international vacancies
  • 64 have local vacancies
  • 36 are companies who did not attend last year – exhibiting Reading’s growing esteem amongst employers who are looking for top level graduates.

The event will be sponsored by Aldi - who currently run one of the country’s most popular graduate schemes – and will be attended by a number of big names, including: Apple, the Civil Service Fast Stream, NHS Leadership Academy, Marks & Spencer, Police Now and PwC, amongst many others.  Click here for full details of this year’s exhibitors.

As well as giving students the opportunity to meet employers and get their take on what makes a great applicant, there will be a number of other options represented, including information on further study in the Reading Postgraduate Study Room and, of course, general career advice from our own Careers Consultants in the ‘Where do I start?’ room.

No matter what stage students are at, this event has plenty to offer everyone in making sure they are able to compete in the ever fierce graduate market after completing their studies.
