Register to attend the Planning Future Lecture

Monday, 16 November 2015

Register to attend the Planning Future Lecture

The ever popular annual Planning Future Lecture returns to Reading University 16 November, 6:30PM - 8:30PM. Staff are invited to attend the free lecture and drinks reception tonight.

Professor Johan Woltjer will be delivering this year's lecture entitled ‘A Place-based Approach to Infrastructure and Water Management’. The lecture will explore the intrinsically place-based nature of infrastructure and water-management projects. The emphasis will be on the important role spatial planning can play to help make them more responsive to locally specific characteristics, impacts and opportunities. International cases (specifically Netherlands and the UK) on flood resilience, water ways, and road infrastructure development are used to develop a comparative view.

Johan Woltjer is a Professor of Urban Infrastructures at the University of Westminster, London. He also holds an honorary professorship at the University of Groningen, Netherlands, and is visiting professor at the University of Reading.

This event is kindly hosted by the University of Reading, and is being held at Henley Business School. The lecture will be followed by refreshments and the chance for socialising, networking and discussion of the issues raised. Please click here to register your attendance.
