Estates and Facilities achieve Gold accreditation from Investors in People
Monday, 23 November 2015
Estates and Facilities have been awarded Gold status from Investors in People (IIP) following a recent assessment of the team.
Since first applying for IIP accreditation in 2009, Estates and Facilities have used the IIP framework as a tool for continuous improvement, with the team achieving Silver status in 2012. The team are delighted to have now reached Gold status as it further affirms the measures taken to build on the performance areas identified in the previous IIP assessment.
The recent accreditation will serve as a benchmark for ongoing improvement across E&F. In turn, senior management are looking to use the findings of the IIP assessment to strengthen the team even further.
During the assessment, Estates and Facilities staff spoke highly about the supportive leadership received at every level. Management have been praised for their engagement with staff and the provision of supportive learning and development opportunities offered by the University. The assessment also praises E&F for its positive attitudes towards diversity and inclusion, with staff further highlighting the benefits of working within a supportive and open team.
“There is no doubt that senior leaders are on their way to developing a high performance culture and have come a very long way on this since the very first IIP assessment,” reads the report.
“We were very pleased to accept our Gold accreditation – not that we do it for the ‘medals’… but if you have to have one, it’s great to have a Gold one!” says Colin Robbins, Director of Estates & Facilities. “The Estates and Facilities team have faced many challenges over the years, and awards of this stature are a testament to the hard work and commitment of our staff. We would like to thank all Estates and Facilities staff for their tremendous efforts, and look forward to building upon our successes.”
