Join the global health event at the campus on 3 December
Thursday, 26 November 2015
The University is hosting a special lecture on global health by Lord Nigel Crisp, a former chief executive of the National Health Service (NHS).
Focused on the key issues and opportunities in improving global health, the lecture will commence at 7.00 pm on 3 December at Henley Business School.
This event has been designed to coincide with the United Nations conference on climate change in Paris and to contribute to both national and international debate.
The United Kingdom is a global power in health. Apart from the NHS, it is a global leader in health policy and international development, has world-class universities and research with strong life sciences industries, a vibrant and diverse not-for-profit sector and exercises profound influence on health services globally.
The lecture will be both preceded and followed by a drinks reception and Exhibition in the Henley Business School Foyer showcasing the strength and diversity of Health research and teaching and learning activity at Reading. Notable exhibits include those featuring the new initiatives of Physician Associate and the Thames Valley Clinical Trials Unit.
Lord Crisp is a current member of the University Council and has been a permanent secretary at the Department of Health. He works and publishes extensively in global health and international development.
