Take the Dry January challenge and stay alcohol-free this month!
Monday, 11 January 2016
As part of ‘Dry January’, the First Stop Bus will be parked outside the Department of Film, Theatre and TV from 11am to 2pm on Monday 11 January.
An initiative of Alcohol Concern and Public Health England, Dry January challenges people to stop drinking alcohol for a month so that they can take a step back from their drinking habits and reassess the effect it has on everyday health and wellbeing.
The First Stop Bus has made appearances at several locations across Reading since the beginning of January in support of the national Dry January campaign. Experts will be on hand to explain the benefits of cutting down alcohol consumption, and will be able to provide information on how to get involved with the challenge- it’s not too late to start! It is well reported that those who take part in the campaign notice improvements in weight loss, sleep patterns, energy levels and skin condition, as well as saving money.
Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Gavin Brooks and several members of RUSU will be taking part in the campaign, and will be stopping by The First Stop Bus over the course of Monday.
