Chaplaincy annual lecture 2016: Joanna Jepson

The University of Reading Chaplaincy is delighted to present their annual lecture, this year as an ‘In conversation’ style event with Reading’s own Vice-Chancellor, Sir David Bell.

The guest speaker at this year’s lecture is Joanna Jepson, who established the first chaplaincy to the British Fashion Industry in 2006.

Before ordination she was a barmaid, worked with teenage victims of drug and domestic abuse and lived in a Welsh convent. In 2001 she instigated a legal challenge to a late-term abortion involving cleft lip. In 2012 she set up a mentor training programme in Louisiana State Penitentiary. Joanna continues to serve as an Anglican priest as well as writing, broadcasting and coaching. As a public speaker, she regularly discusses matters of faith, body image, spirituality and fashion.

The lecture is taking place on Wednesday 27 January at Henley Business School, 19:30. Admission is free, but places are limited- click here to register your attendance. Please contact our events team for further information.
