Minimum credit/debit card spend limit removed from EPOS tills
Monday, 07 March 2016
Taking effect from Monday 7 March, EPOS tills used across the University will no longer require customers paying for goods by credit/debit card to spend a minimum of £5.
The Finance department has negotiated a new deal for credit/debit card fees that significantly reduce the amount the University is charged for the processing of credit/debit card transactions. As a result of this, a customer minimum spend limit is no longer required.
In addition, EPOS tills will now be able to accept payment using contactless credit/debit cards, which will help speed up the transaction process and reduce queuing at the tills.
