Reading Half Marathon Sunday 3 April 2016
Thursday, 31 March 2016
This weekend, approximately 19,500 people will run through Whiteknights campus as part of the Reading Half Marathon on Sunday 3 April.
Spanning 13.1 miles, the route will once again take runners through our Whiteknights campus, entering at the Pepper Lane entrance and following the road to the right past Food Bioscience, RSSL, Chemistry and Archaeology. The route then turns right past the front of Whiteknights House, and exits at the main Shinfield Road entrance by the Sports Park.
Ever since the first Reading Half Marathon was held in 1983, our University grounds have formed an integral part of the route- we are delighted for the race to return to Whiteknights this year.
As a result, a number of roads will be closed throughout Reading over the course of the day, including Pepper Lane and Shinfield Road. A full list of road closures can be found here. Please also note that there will be no vehicular access to/from the Whiteknights campus throughout the morning, from 7.45am to 1pm.
