Earley Gate: Power Supply Update

The interruption to the power supply at Earley Gate on 1st April 2016, which affected IT services across campus, was caused by the failure of a transformer in the Earley Gate sub-station. A second brief power interruption on 7th April was also linked to this original fault.
Maintenance Services are currently arranging for the failed transformer to be replaced as a priority. The work is expected to take around 4 weeks. During this period the power supply to buildings at Earley Gate should be considered ‘at risk’, with at least one planned shutdown being required, the timing of which will be agreed in advance with relevant Heads of School/Department, Building Managers and IT.
