National Living Wage now in effect
Tuesday, 19 April 2016
The National Living Wage (NLW) came into effect from 1 April 2016. All employees aged 25 and over are legally entitled to be paid at least £7.20 per hour. This is a statutory payment.
If you recruit any staff on a pay rate that is outside of the pay scale e.g. casual staff, student ambassadors, telephone fundraisers; you will need to ensure that they are paid at the correct rate for their age group. You should seek guidance from your HR Partner regarding appropriate rates of pay for different roles.
