Me@Reading portal launches in two Schools
Tuesday, 10 May 2016
Over the last year, Student and Applicant Services has been working on a new digital platform, which aims to enhance the student experience.
The Me@Reading Student portal has now been launched to two cohorts: the School of Archaeology, Geography and Environmental Sciences and the School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences, following testing earlier in the year.
The portal will be available to undergraduate and postgraduate taught students with an expected completion date beyond 31 July 2016. Me@Reading will be rolled out to all schools from September this year.
The portal is an all-encompassing website where students can access RISIS, Blackboard, university events, their academic timetable and inbox and more.
The portal will:
- Bring together our university resources in one place, creating an environment where students can view engaging content which is relevant to them.
- Provide a platform through which all areas of the University can circulate their messages to students.
- As well as improving the student experience, the portal will create a streamlined way for you to get your message out to students, and ensure it gets a high level of promotion.

Student feedback so far has included:
I really liked that it integrates all the other university materials, and that you can access pages on all sorts of things through the links. I also really liked the fact that relevant articles have been included on safety etc, as well as articles relevant to my field of study.
I like that it's easier to access email now - quicker and smoother. I like having my department announcements and research news in quick access.
I think it is great that once you are signed into the portal you are not required to enter your log in details again when following quick links, which is the difficulty at the moment with having to log in to everything separately.
Demonstration sessions for staff will be held for staff at the beginning of September; more information to follow.
If you have any questions about the portal in the meantime, please contact Emma Kay.
