EU debate with Eddie Izzard and Daniel Hannan to be streamed online from 6.00pm

Tonight at 6.00pm, the University and RUSU will proudly present a debate between stand-up comedian Eddie Izzard and Daniel Hannan MEP on whether or not the UK should remain part of the EU.
The debate will be live-streamed tonight through our Periscope channel. Tuning in is easy- there are two methods of watching the live-stream:
- If you follow the University of Reading on Twitter, you’ll receive an alert at 6pm to say that the live-stream is about to begin. All you have to do is click on the alert- you’ll automatically be taken to our Periscope channel so that you can watch the debate live.

- Head over to our Periscope channel https://www.periscope.tv/UniofReading from 6.00pm to watch the debate live. This URL will take you directly to our page- you will only be able to view the broadcast from here, so please double check you are using the correct page to view the live-stream.
In addition, the debate will also be broadcast live in Café Mondial from 6.00pm. You don’t need a ticket to attend the screening- all staff and students are welcome to watch.
The live-stream will be available for 24 hours after broadcast, but we are planning to post a video of the event online at a future date.
In tonight’s debate, Eddie Izzard will represent the case for remaining part of the EU while Conservative MEP Daniel Hannan will explore the reasons for leaving. With less than one month to go until the EU Referendum on Thursday 23 June, the debate aims to highlight some of the key factors to consider when deciding whether or not to remain part of the EU.
