Carol Wright to retire as Finance Director

The University has today announced that Carol Wright will be retiring as the Director of Finance & Corporate Services at the end of this year.

Since joining the University in June 2000, Carol has held the posts of Deputy Director of Finance and, since 2013, Director of Finance and Corporate Services. 

Vice-Chancellor Sir David Bell said: “Throughout her time with us, Carol has been a superb colleague and has provided excellent advice and wise counsel.

“Being responsible for all aspects of finance in the complex environment of a university is not straightforward but Carol has always fulfilled her duties with great skill and professionalism. We will miss the outstanding contribution that she has made”.

Carol will retire on 31 December 2016, following the publication of the 2015/16 Financial Statements.

The University will shortly advertise for a new Director of Finance, with the intention to make an appointment during the summer. This will allow time for the successful candidate to complete a detailed handover before taking up the post on 1 January 2017.
