Chancellors Way closed Monday 6 June to Friday 16 September

Thursday, 02 June 2016

Chancellors Way closed 6 June to 16 September

Please be advised that Chancellor’s Way will be closed from Monday 6 June until Friday 16 September 2016.

The entire length of Chancellor’s Way will be closed, from the junction at Queen’s Drive (next to the Russell Building) all the way through to Shinfield Road. The closure will facilitate the construction of the new Chancellors Building and the reconstruction of the roadway.

Temporary bus stop at Queen’s Drive

As a result, buses will be diverted from Chancellors Way to Queens Drive. A temporary bus stop will be situated opposite Whiteknights House for buses travelling towards Reading (Claret 21 and 21a services).

During this period, buses will not serve the Chancellor's Way and Chancellor's Way (Shinfield Road) bus stops. The route will be amended so that buses will stop at the temporary bus stop at Queen’s Drive in place of Chancellor’s Way.

Services running towards Lower Earley will not be affected.

A service update from Reading Buses can be found here.

Footpath closure

The public footpath that runs along Chancellors Way will also be closed. The path will be re-routed via Queens Drive. Diversion signs will be put in place.

Estates and Facilities apologise for any inconvenience caused, and thank you in advance for your forbearance.
