'We were impressed beyond expectation and found each and every student welcoming, polite, knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about Reading University.'
We are extremely pleased to announce that a record number of visitors attended our summer Open Days last week.
Across Friday 17 and Saturday 18 June, 5479 visitors were welcomed onto our Whiteknights and London Road campuses, becoming our highest recorded summer Open Day attendance so far.
There was a great buzz around campus on both days, with strong attendance for tours, subject talks and general presentations. Our two newest programmes, Biomedical Engineering and Education Studies, made their Open Day debut and were each met with encouraging levels of interest from prospective students.
We have received around 300 pieces of Open Day feedback so far, with early analysis pointing to largely positive experiences. More than 80% of prospective students have said they plan to make an application to Reading, with 25% saying that we are their first choice of university.
One visitor passed on the following high praise:
"Cannot fault anything, as a parent of four daughters I've been to over 20 university open days, mainly here in the south east and London. What we experienced yesterday was a revelation, we were both impressed beyond expectation and found each and every student welcoming, polite, knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about Reading University."
As ever, we are extremely grateful for the incredible efforts of our student ambassadors and University colleagues supporting our Open Days. Each team went above and beyond to ensure that visitors were made to feel welcome, and we thank you all for your hard work.
The final 2016 Open Days will take place on Saturday 1 October and Saturday 8 October.
