Help design the future of our LGBT Plus Network and Allies Programme!
Monday, 27 June 2016
LGBT Plus is an inclusive staff support network for individuals identifying as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, as well as other sexual and gender identities, and their allies.
The network aims to have a social and representative function by raising the visibility of the LGBT+ community within the University as well as improving awareness of LGBT+ issues.
We have organised events around LGBT+ themes and participated in the institution wide celebration of the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHoBiT).
We’re currently working with the University to:
- Develop a stronger and more active straight allies strand to our activities;
- Help the University to develop an action plan, thinking through what it should be doing to support its LGBT+ staff and students.
In particular we are running a morning workshop and lunch next Wednesday 29 June on Whiteknights campus, to brainstorm and develop together, in a structured format, first drafts of plans to push both of these developments forwards.
If you would like to join the network and join us next Wednesday, please contact the network chair Calvin Smith.
