Professor Steven Mithen to host EU Research Open Forum
Wednesday, 13 July 2016
Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Steven Mithen will be hosting an EU Research Open Forum on Monday 18 July at Henley Business School, G11, 1:00pm–2:00pm.
The forum is aimed at University researchers who are either holding, applying for or planning to apply for Horizon 2020 funding. This is to enable researchers to ask any questions about the implications of Brexit for their current research activity and to help ensure the University provides the best possible support for our researchers at this present time of uncertainty.
As Vice-Chancellor Sir David Bell has made clear, the University remains committed to full collaboration with EU colleagues; academics in all UK institutions remain fully eligible to apply for funding from Horizon 2020.
The session has no fixed agenda- instead, Professor Mithen wants researchers to share their questions, concerns and examples of difficulties already faced as a consequence of Brexit. These concerns will help inform the University’s responses to current and future sector consultations, including those from Universities UK, Government and EU funding bodies.
Pooling together the thoughts of our colleagues at this point will help to establish an effective model to address concerns in the future.
It would be helpful to gain an idea of attendance numbers ahead of the session. To confirm your attendance, please email the Research Deans Office.
