Annual leave carry over for 2016/17 leave year

The 2015/16 annual leave year will end on Friday 30 September. Where it is permitted by your School or Department unused holiday can be carried across into the next year, in accordance with your contract of your employment, as long as it does not exceed the following:

• Grades 1 – 5 staff can carry across a maximum of one working week (or up to 36 hours) from one leave year into the next.
• Grades 6+ staff can carry across a maximum of one working week (or up to 35 hours) from one leave year into the next.

Where employees are or have been on maternity/parental leave or have had prolonged periods of sickness absence, manual adjustments are made as appropriate.

All staff are encouraged to use their full holiday entitlement and to take a proper break from work. Full details are provided on the Absence Human Resources page.
