University of Reading supports Reading Pride, Saturday 3 September
Tuesday, 23 August 2016
Please join the University of Reading and Reading University Students’ Union (RUSU) in support of Reading Pride on Saturday 3 September.
Festivities will kick off with the Pride Parade– starting at 11:00am, the parade will travel through Reading town centre before arriving at Kings Meadow, the site of the Reading Pride Festival.
We’ll be taking part in the parade and would love to be joined by as many of you as possible! The parade starts from Reading Train Station at 11:00am– we’ll be assembling outside the station before it begins, so come and meet us by our new specially-created University banner. The parade will arrive at Kings Meadow for 12:00pm.
At the Festival we’ll be holding our first ever University stall in the Pride market place, open from 12:00pm–6:30pm. Here, we’ll be highlighting our commitment to LGBT equality for students, staff and the wider community. There’ll also be free giveaways and information on the University’s LGBT support networks and historical connections.
Now in its thirteenth year, Reading Pride is set to be a fun and entertaining day for all. The Festival will feature a full line-up of entertainment throughout the day as well as a funfair, youth area, market stalls and a wide range of tasty food and drink. Full details can be found at https://readingpride.co.uk/pride.
If you have any questions about joining the Parade, please contact Frances Raimo.
We look forward to seeing you there!
