Chancellors Way to reopen from 4:00pm, Friday 16 September

Chancellors Way will reopen as the Chancellors Building nears completion.

Chancellors Way is set to reopen for traffic from 4:00pm Friday 16 September. 

Bus routes for the 21 and 21a services will resume from 08:00am Saturday 17 September, with buses stopping at both the Chancellors Way and Shinfield Road bus stops.

Services running towards Lower Earley will continue to operate as usual. 

All of the above is subject to the final stages of work being completed on time- we will keep you updated should the remaining works take longer to complete.  

Chancellors Way closed earlier this year to facilitate the construction of the new Chancellors Building and reconstruction of the roadway. 

The Chancellors Building will provide additional teaching and learning space during our major 2026: TRANSFORM capital investment programme. Its first occupants will be the School of Construction Management and Engineering (SCME), who will move during the December recess ahead of the refurbishment to the URS Building. 

Rooms within the Chancellors Building can be reserved through our central booking system for the 2017 spring term onwards. During the refurbishment of the URS Building, all rooms previously available in the URS Building will be relocated to the Chancellors Building.
