Reading's Open Access Roadshow: 25-28 October
Monday, 24 October 2016
To celebrate International Open Access week, there will be an Open Access Roadshow taking place on campus for all those interested in finding out more about publishing their research and research data via Open Access.
Find out about the publisher deals available to Reading researchers to fund open access, how to deposit your research outputs in CentAUR and Reading’s Research Data Archive, how to sign up for an ORCID iD and how to track the reach of your research using citation metrics and altmetrics.
The Roadshow will be at the following locations from 12-2pm:
- Tuesday 25 October, Foyer, Agriculture Building, Earley Gate
- Wednesday and Thursday 26-27 October, Foyer, Library, Whiteknights
- Friday 28 October, Foyer, HUMSS building, Whiteknights
The display will also be available during normal library opening hours Wednesday to Friday but will not be staffed.
Win an orchid (and a £20 book token) for an ORCID
Have you signed up for an ORCID iD yet?
If you have, send an email containing your ORCID iD with the subject ‘ORCHID 4 ORCID’ to Karen Rowlett to be entered into a draw for a real orchid and a £20 book token.
If you haven’t yet got an ORCID identifier, it only takes 10 minutes to register and it is a great way to enhance your digital researcher identity. Make signing up for an ORCID iD one of your actions to support Open Access week. Pop along to the Open Access Roadshow to find out more.
Entries close at 6pm on Friday 28 October, University of Reading staff and PG students only (one entry per person).
