Research staff development programme now available for booking

A comprehensive development programme for research staff is now available to book, with courses starting this November. The programme is open to all University researchers on all types of contract and career stage.
The Research Staff Development Programme for this year has been designed following consultation and input from the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research Deans, Research Staff Committee, as well as subject matter experts from across the University.
The courses are delivered by internal and / or external experts in their field, many of whom have research experience.
Examples of programmes available include:
- Scholarly publishing: requirements and opportunities: Practical information on maximizing research visibility for the benefit of both you and the University.
- Research Data Management: Introduction to general principles and practices of research data management, applicable to researchers at all stages and disciplines.
- Research Data Management Surgery: Book a one-to-one session with the Research Data Manager for advice and practical assistance in managing research data.
- Moving to a university lectureship: Professor Ellie Highwood will explain the key issues driving the research agenda of universities like Reading, as well as the implications this has for contract research staff hoping to move to a lectureship.
- Moving towards a career in industry: Presented by Dr David Fox, Vulpine Science and Learning and recently of Pfizer. Particularly relevant for research staff interested in finding out more about research and technical careers in industry.
