Monday, 28 November 2016
The University is delighted to announce that Dean Dr David Carter has been appointed Head of International Study and Language Institute (ISLI). David will take up his new position on 1 July 2017 following the retirement of Professor Ros Richards.
After spending 8 years as a teacher of classics in secondary schools, David joined the University of Reading in 2004. David has served as a Teaching and Learning Dean for the past two years, with a particular responsibility for teaching quality. David is a University Teaching Fellow, and was recently appointed as a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Vincenzo Raimo, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Global Engagement, said:
“David has played an important role in helping to shape the University’s Global Engagement Strategy over the past two years, a role he will now continue as Head of ISLI.
"ISLI is at the heart of the University’s developing Global Engagement activity supporting the mobility of students into the University’s UK campuses but also, very importantly, from it. ISLI already has a global footprint with the diversity of its staff and language provision but also physically with foundation and English language work in Malaysia and China.
"I look forward to working with David to build upon the very strong foundations laid by Ros Richards during her tenure as Head of ISLI”.
Please join us in congratulating David on his new role.
