First ever student elections held at the University of Reading Malaysia

Students at the University of Reading Malaysia (UoRM) have elected their very first President and Executive Team to the Reading University Malaysia Students Association (RUMSA).
The new RUMSA team will represent student views to university leadership and ensure students have the best possible education and experience while studying at UoRM.
Under the guidance and mentorship of Oli Ratcliffe, 2015 President of the Student Union at the University of Reading UK, UoRM students learnt about the election process, including how to produce a manifesto and run a campaign. Students went to the polls on Wednesday 23 November and results were announced on Friday 25 November.
Professor Tony Downes, Provost of the University of Reading Malaysia said:

The newly elected student officers are:
President: Chee Wei Lim, second year Finance and Business Management student will ensure that RUMSA is running in line with the RUMSA constitution and achieving its strategic aims.
Education Officer: Lee Ken Chern, second year Finance and Business Management student will lead on any issue relating to the academic experience of students.
Welfare Officer: Yeow Zhi Qi, first year MPharm 2+2 student will lead on any non-academic welfare/well-being issues at UoRM.
Activities Officer: Kenny Mau, second year Real Estate student will lead on any extra-curricular activities including issues relating to volunteering, clubs and societies.
Treasurer: Kimberleigh Kho, first year Accounting and Finance student will be the officer lead on any financial matters of the association, ensuring RUMSA is in line with its financial targets and remains within its financial capabilities.
Secretary: Michelle Koh, first year MPharm 2+2 student will be the first point of contact for all RUMSA enquiries.
The newly elected RUMSA student officers will begin training for their new roles from 1 December 2016.
