URS building survey works scheduled between 5 - 23 December
Thursday, 01 December 2016
Investigative works will be carried out inside and outside the URS Building over the next few weeks.
The works will be carried out by Francis Construction, who were recently appointed to carry out survey works ahead of the building’s proposed refurbishment.
Key works are:
- From Monday 5 December, four areas around the outside of the URS building will be fenced off while investigation surveys take place. Routes will be diverted for pedestrians and vehicles, with diversions and wayfinding signs put up in place. Surveys will be carried out one at a time to help minimise disruption.
- From Monday 19 December, further works will take place inside and outside the URS Building and will involve drilling at certain points. Footpath diversions will be in place as and when required. The investigative works have been scheduled to take place after the end pf the autumn term (Friday 9 December) to further minimise disruption, and will coincide with the move of URS occupants to the Chancellor’s Building.
The programme is anticipated to be completed by Friday 23 December 2016.
Updates on the URS Building refurbishment project and the occupancy of the Chancellor’s Building will follow shortly.
