Templates for email signatures, letterheads and Powerpoint presentation slides
Monday, 23 January 2017
The University of Reading celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2016.
To mark the occasion we released several anniversary- themed templates for colleagues to use across the year – these included templates for an email signature, letterheads and Powerpoint presentation slides.
Now that the year has passed, we would like to politely ask that colleagues now use standard email signature, letterhead and Powerpoint templates instead of the 90th anniversary themed ones.
Standard templates can be found on the following pages:
Note on email signatures
The University does not currently offer a standard email signature template in place of the 90th anniversary themed one. However, the Email Signatures page outlines a few key points to help encourage consistency across all departments.
- Keep the information simple – your signature must list your name, role, phone number and web address of your unit / department. Additional information can also be included if it is relevant to your role or working pattern, such as alternative methods of contact, working hours, and relevant websites tailored towards specific recipients (a signature for research queries might link to www.reading.ac.uk/research).
Signatures should not include:
- Decorative or complex formatting or pictures.
- Custom fonts – use your email client’s 'default' or 'body' font.
- Logos or accreditations of any kind (including the University Device or Investors in People logos).
- References to virus scanning or security.
- Detailed 'company' information (like company number, registered address, VAT number).
A full list is provided on the Email Signatures page.
