Reading Half Marathon to come through Whiteknights campus Sunday 19 March
Tuesday, 14 March 2017
Over 15,000 people are set to run through Whiteknights campus this Sunday for the Reading Half Marathon.
Spanning 13.1 miles, the route will once again take runners through Whiteknights campus, entering at the Pepper Lane entrance and following the road to the right past Food Bioscience, around RSSL, Chemistry and Archaeology. The route then turns right past the front of Whiteknights House, continues along Queens Drive with a detour though car park 1A and exits at the main Shinfield Road entrance by the Sports Park.
Several roads close across Reading over the course of the day, including Pepper Lane and Shinfield Road – a full list is available on the marathon’s website.
There will be no vehicular access to/from the Whiteknights campus from 7.45am to 1.00pm on Sunday 19 March.
In preparation for race day there will be some parking restrictions in car park 1A from the evening of Thursday 16 March.
The University grounds have formed part of the route ever since the first Reading Half Marathon in 1983 – we are delighted to welcome its runners to campus this weekend, and wish them all the very best of luck!
Full details of this’s year race can be found on the Reading Half Marathon website.
