Celebrate excellence at the Doctoral Research Conference, Tuesday 20 June
Monday, 12 June 2017
Join us on Tuesday 20 June 2017 to celebrate excellence in doctoral research across the University.
The University’s annual Doctoral Research Conference is for both doctoral researchers and their supervisors and will showcase and celebrate our excellence in doctoral research.
The Doctoral Research Conference offers current doctoral researchers and their supervisors the chance to hear about the doctoral research highlights from the last year and includes presentations from the PhD Researcher of the Year finalists – please see the PhD Researcher of the Year Finalists 2017 page for full details.
This year, the PhD Researchers of the Year finalists have been selected to represent the University’s five Research Themes: Food; Environment; Health; Prosperity and Resilience; and Heritage and Creativity. Read about the finalists and their doctoral research.
In addition, the Conference will feature the ever-popular Three Minute Thesis Competition (3MT©) and an exhibition of entries to the Research Poster Competition, Research Image Competition and the new Research Life in Pictures Competition. It will also provide you a chance to network with colleagues from across the University.
To mark the Graduate School’s fifth anniversary, the Conference will close with a Graduate School Challenge Quiz, pitting a team of doctoral researchers against staff. Who will be victorious…?
As the conference is a professional development opportunity, attendance will count towards one of your Reading Researcher Development Programme (RRDP) annual training requirement.
The conference will be held in Room G10, Palmer Building.
Book your place at the conference now via the Graduate School RRDP booking pages on the RISIS web portal.
Additional details are available on the Graduate School events listing.
