Pepper Lane entrance temporary closure Thursday 29 June
Thursday, 29 June 2017
A large machine used for the demolition of the Engineering Building will be moved off campus this afternoon (Thursday 29 June).
Due to its size, a police escort will accompany the vehicle as it moves off site.
The removal is set to begin from 1.00 pm – a lorry will enter Whiteknights campus from the Pepper Lane entrance. It will turn left at the roundabout and will then reverse down the road and on to the demolition site. This is expected to take around 20 minutes.
The lorry will leave the site at approximately 3.00 pm – its journey out of campus will take approximately 20 minutes.
Please note that the Pepper Lane entrance and the road leading from the entrance to the Engineering Building will be closed during both of these times.
Car parks and buses
Car Park 11 remains open, although it will not be possible to enter or exit it during the two delivery timeslots.
Parking is currently unavailable on the verge behind Polly Vacher (formally Systems Engineering) all day.
Car Park 13 (Harborne) and the Reading Scientific Services car park can be accessed via the loop road passed the Hopkins building.
Bus routes will operate as usual, although services may be held until the delivery lorry is clear.
