Black History Month Moment of Silence, Monday 2 October, 1pm
Friday, 29 September 2017
Black History Month (1-31 October) has been celebrated for the past 30 years in the United Kingdom, and has expanded to a nationwide event.
Whilst the month is designed to celebrate and recognise the contribution of black individuals and communities after being ignored for so long, we cannot forget the injustices our brothers and sisters faced.
On Monday 2 October, 1.00 pm, Reading University Students' Union (RUSU) invite all students and staff to gather by the flagpole between Whiteknights House and the Library for a moment of silence to remember those who suffered from the chains of slavery.
Sam Owoo from the Chaplaincy and Student BME Officer Doyin Ogunmilua will say a few words.
We hope you can join.
