Tuesday, 23 January 2018
Choral singers and orchestral players are invited to join us for three days of music making, culminating in the Ben Pedley Memorial concert in our historic Great Hall.
Instrumentalists will join Festival Sinfonia, and singers will join Festival Voices to rehearse in fun, and engaging rehearsals with professional directors throughout Saturday 10 and Saturday 24 February, before performing at the Ben Pedley Memorial Concert on Saturday 10 March.
The performance will take place in the Great Hall, London Road campus, with rehearsals taking place around the London Road campus.
Festival Sinfonia and Festival Voices will combine forces to perform The Armed Man by Karl Jenkins.
Each day will consist of a warm up, full ensemble rehearsals and sectional rehearsals, with plenty of time for coffee and lunch breaks. The final Saturday will comprise a dress rehearsal and performance.
The participation fees of £15 for students, and £20 for staff, alumni and community members covers use of sheet music, professional directors, tutors and accompanist, plus refreshments throughout the day. Lunch is not provided, and parking is free.
