Campus closure over Easter period

Colleagues are reminded that the University is closed from Thursday 29 March to Tuesday 3 April (please note that Greenlands will be open on Thursday 29 March and Tuesday 3 April).
Building access over closure
If you come into work over the closure period, please inform Security Control when you arrive and when you leave. Please ensure that you know how to operate any alarm system or have the relevant codes for any security in your area.
Any vehicles remaining on site during the whole closure period should be moved to Car Park 5. Please remove any equipment from the vehicle and leave the keys with Security Control. Vehicles must be collected by 9.00am on Wednesday 4 April.

Services open during Easter vacation
Following the end of the spring term, the Easter vacation will run until Monday 16 April (the first day of the summer term).
With exams and final projects on the horizon, many students may remain on campus over the vacation period. In case you receive any enquiries, the following services will continue to run over the vacation period, with the exception of the Easter closure period (Thursday 29 March to Tuesday 3 April).
- Library & URS Building: Open until Wednesday 28 March, with URS reopening at 8.30am on Wednesday 4 April. From then it will be normal opening hours (9am – 10pm) in the Library and 24 hours in URS except 9pm on Saturdays - 8.30am on Sundays through the remainder of the vacation period. The Library blog includes useful information for students on vacation opening hours, study space and more.
- RUSU: Excluding the Easter closure, the Reading University Student's Union reception desk will open from 9am – 5pm on weekdays and Café Mondial will also be open from 9.30am – 2.30pm. Mojo's Bar & Kitchen will be closed over the Easter break and will reopen on Monday 16 April.
- Careers: Excluding the Easter closure, Careers will be open as normal from 9am – 5pm Monday to Thursday, and 9am – 4.30pm on Fridays.
- Student Services Desk: After the Easter closure, the Student Services desk on the ground floor in the Carrington Building will reopen on Wednesday 4 April. The service will be open as usual during the remainder of the vacation period from 9am – 5pm Monday – Thursday, and 9am – 4.30pm on Fridays.
- Support Centres - Excluding the Easter closure, the Support Centres are open weekdays between 9am–4pm during University vacation periods.
- Counselling & Wellbeing: The Counselling & Wellbeing reception and waiting area will be open as usual 9am-5pm Monday - Friday, excluding the Easter closure period. The service will then resume as normal for the remainder of the Easter vacation period, apart from Friday 6 April with opening hours of 9am - 1pm. Please note that the service will not register any new students between 2 - 6 April.
- Disability Advisory Service: The Disability Advisory Service reception desk will be open from 10am - 4pm and will continue with normal hours after the University closure days. The reception desk will close after lunch on 6 and 13 April, so please direct queries to Carrington G03 during this time.
- Erasmus & Study Abroad: After the Easter closure, Study Abroad will reopen on Wednesday 4 April. They will otherwise be open as usual from 9am - 5pm in Edith Morley (room 203) throughout the remainder of the Easter vacation period.
- International Advice: Access to email enquiries (immigration@reading.ac.uk) will be open and appointments booked via the RISIS portal will still be available but at a reduced service.
- The Co-op: The Co-op on campus will be closed over the Easter closure period. From Wednesday 4 April, it will be open daily throughout the vacation period, typically open from 7am – 10pm.
- Hall Receptions: All hall receptions will be open as normal up to and including Wednesday 28 March. After that, hall receptions will be close from Thursday 29 March and will reopen as normal on Wednesday 4 April. - Hall Parcel Collections: From Monday 26 - Wednesday 28 March the service will be open from 8.30am - 9.30am and then 2pm - 5.30pm. On Thursday 19 March the service will be open from 12pm - 2pm. The Parcel Collections will be unavailable from Friday 30 March - Monday 2 April due to University closure days but will be open on Tuesday 3 April from 12pm - 2pm. From Wednesday 4 April - Friday 13 April the service will return to opening hours of 8.30am - 9.30am and 2pm - 5.30pm, where after this time the service will return to normal hours.
- Halls Hotline: Halls Hotline staff are on hand to help students 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. Their contact details are: 0118 378 7777 or Reading.Helpdesk@upp-ltd.com.
- Bars & Catering: Catered packages for students in catered accommodation end on Sunday 25 March and restarts on Sunday 15 April. Park Bar will be open between 14:30 - Midnight on Weekdays and will be closed over weekends. Park House will be open between 12:00 - 23:00 on Weekdays and will be closed over weekends. The Dairy on London Road Campus will be open between 8:30 - Midnight on Weekdays, 12:00 - Midnight on Saturdays and 12:00 - 23:00 on Sundays.
