Friends of the University grant

The Friends of the University of Reading are inviting applications for grants from their 2018 fund.

Each year, The Friends give grants for initiatives that will enhance the understanding and enjoyment of the University by staff, students and the public. The grants range from a few hundred to a few thousand pounds.

Examples of grants awarded last year include:

  • Creation of large print labels and tactile maps for visually impaired visitors for our Museums & Special Collections (£1,500)
  • 3D printed DNA model for the Department of Chemistry (£750)
  • Development of the Harris Garden (£150)  
  • Event funding for the Big Band, Big Lunch (£800)

The closing date for applications is Tuesday 17 April. Applicants will be informed of the outcome in the first week of June 2018.
