The Reading University Staff Golf Society and Reading University Alumni & Staff Cricket Club are looking for new members to join in upcoming matches – if you’re a keen golfer or cricket player, sign up today!
Reading University Alumni & Staff Cricket Club
For over 60 years, Reading University Alumni & Staff Cricket Club (RUASCC) has invited University staff and members of our alumni community to play cricket at some of Berkshire’s most picturesque grounds.
RUASCC welcomes players of all abilities, although prior experience would be preferable (games are competitive!). The club is stepped in local history and continue to play many long-standing fixtures against cricket clubs in the surrounding area, including Oxford University Club and BBC Caversham.
Matches will mostly be held on Sundays from late April to late September – a full list of fixtures can be downloaded here (Word file 72.5KB).
The club is friendly and flexible – anyone keen to play cricket in a sociable, inclusive and entertaining environment will be welcome. Please contact club secretary Andy Eagle to find out more.
Reading University Staff Golf Society
Reading University Staff Golf Society is about to start a new season and are looking for new members to join.
Golfers of all abilities and genders are welcome. The club meet four times a year on courses in easy reach of the University – meetings typically start around 12.00 pm for tea and coffee, followed by first tee-off at 1.00 pm. Each game is usually followed by a two-course meal.
Confirmed games will take place on Friday 13 April (West Berkshire Golf Course), Tuesday 29 May (Test Valley), Thursday 26 July (Bishopswood). The last match, Captain’s Day, will be held in September and is likely to be at Badgemore.
To find out more, please contact Geoff Gardner or Graham Holloway.
