The Electronic Management of Assessment (EMA) programme has two interesting events coming up that colleagues at the University may be interested in:
The EMA Online Submission and Marking Introduction
Thursday 26 April, 12.30 - 1.30, Carrington 201
The session will introduce upcoming improvements in Electronic Management of Assessment to academic staff, with an opportunity to:
- Understand how this impacts them.
- Hear from Early Adopter schools who have already been through the transition.
- See examples of how the functionality of marking tools can help.
- Hear how processes in support centres will change and receive clarity on roles and responsibilities.
- Ask questions regarding the changes.

The EMA Symposium
Tuesday 22 May, 09:15 - 16:00, Meadow Suite
The Symposium will gather together a broad range of users to share good practice with academic and professional services staff to support them during the move towards electronic submission, feedback and grading, and the use of new assessment data.
This event is relevant for both experienced colleagues and those who are completely new to this area and who may be unsure what online assessment and new data availability can deliver for themselves and their students.
You can register for the full day or just attend the morning or afternoon session.
- Morning session (09:15 - 12.15) - will focus on online marking for less experienced colleagues, a Technology Enhanced Learning Team led demonstration for new users, a Technology Enhanced Learning Team led demonstration for new users, an open Q&A on assessment, disability and inclusivity, the use of marking tools for more advanced users, using new RISIS data to support pastoral care and making the very most of rubrics.
- Afternoon session (13:00 - 16:00) - will focus on data dashboards and learning analytics, online assessment and the experience of support centres, change and impact in Early Adopter schools, how to get the most out of QuickMarks and a roundtable focused on policy, process, pedagogy and technology.
