Teaching and Learning Strategy 2018-21
Friday, 04 May 2018
Colleagues,
I am pleased to share with you our Teaching and Learning Strategy 2018-2021 which sets out our two clear strategic priorities for the next three years:
- Delivering academic excellence; and
- Offering students an outstanding learning experience.
You can access the Strategy as follows:

This Strategy builds on the successes of its forerunner, notably in the areas of staff development and reward, and in fostering a culture of innovation and excellence in teaching. It enables us to continue and complete some of the major projects that we have embarked on, including implementing our Curriculum Framework.
I am very grateful to the staff and students who actively contributed to the consultation over the autumn term. Their insights and comments on the draft Strategy, along with their reflections on current and future priorities, have been extremely valuable in helping us to develop the final Strategy and determine how best to present it. A high-level summary of the key themes raised, and how we have responded, can be found online.
I encourage all of us engaged in delivering and supporting teaching and learning across schools and functions to consider in the coming weeks how we can support delivery of our two strategic priorities through our own work.
Printed copies of the Strategy are being distributed across the University through Teaching and Learning networks. Further copies can be obtained from Emily Hake in our Planning and Strategy Office (extension 7920).
