Over 180 staff attend Skype phone demonstration
Thursday, 31 May 2018
Over 180 colleagues from various schools and functions attended a Skype for Business Phone demonstrations, hosted by IT, from 22-24 May. On display were Skype for Business phones, headsets and conference equipment that colleagues could try out.
The demonstration was part of a project looking to replace our existing telephone service and devices.
Thank you to everyone who attended for making it such a success. We hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did. Your feedback is invaluable and we will use it to shape the project.
Next steps
The demonstrations gave IT general feedback on the technology. Over the coming months, we will meet with different teams and departments to understand and capture their specific requirements.
We understand that each team is different and these meetings will help us understand how you use telephone and teleconferencing services. We want to deliver a service that is right for you whilst making the smallest amount of impact on your working life. If there is a particular way these services are used in your area, please do let us know.
The meetings will also offer an opportunity to learn more about the project and the change it will bring. The project will fund one piece of equipment (a telephone handset or a headset), with schools and functions able to order additional equipment from a pre-approved list.
We are working on a plan to deploy these Skype for Business Phones, which these conversations will help inform, and will share the details with you as soon as possible.
