Update on Health & Life Sciences project

Tuesday, 19 June 2018

Health & Life Sciences building

Concept image of the new Health & Life Sciences building.

Work is progressing well at the site of what will become our new Health & Life Sciences building.

The past few weeks have focused on carrying out piling work, with more work planned over the coming weeks to prepare the ground ahead of the building superstructure construction work.

The nature of the work involved means that the construction site may be noisy at times, including the use of machinery and hand-held construction equipment.

The works won’t affect entrances or exits to nearby buildings (JJ Thomson, Maths and IT Services and Polly Vacher).

Route diversion map for cyclists and pedestrians

In the interest of health and safety, a map highlighting alternative routes around the construction area is now available. The map has been created with pedestrians and cyclists in mind, and highlights alternative routes away from roads used by large vehicles entering the construction site.

Construction of the new Health & Life Sciences building is scheduled to be completed in late 2019.
