Staff welfare projects receive funding
Friday, 22 June 2018
The Staff Forum is thrilled to announce that the University Executive Board (UEB) has agreed to fund seven staff welfare projects with a potential funding of £75,000.
These were selected from the nearly 50 proposals put forward by colleagues in response to a campaign last month. Most proposals focused on two main themes:
- Improved spaces – facilitating more use of campus grounds for working, relaxing or exercising, through improvements like outdoor furniture
- Events and activities – offering opportunities to meet with colleagues, feel part of a larger community or focussed around health and wellbeing
Details of projects we are able to confirm at this time, along with the recommendation process, can be found on the Staff Forum website.
An Implementation Group – with representatives from Human Resources, Estates & Facilities, and Finance – will now work with the Staff Forum to develop the funded proposals into projects with clear deliverables and timeline.
The first meeting of the Implementation Group is on 28 June.
The Staff Forum would like to thank everyone who put their time and effort in proposing an idea to benefit others. We have contacted colleagues and are keen to take forward ideas that cannot be funded at this time.
