Work on Miller building starts on 25 June
Friday, 22 June 2018
Work to refurbish the Miller building is due to start on Monday 25 June.
The first phase of work will focus on the offices, mainly on the first floor. Library, resources and study space areas – on the ground floor – will follow this.
The main entrance to Miller will be closed during the works, though colleagues working in the building can use the other access doors.
The refurbishment work will be completed in September 2018, in time for the Welcome Week.
Road closures near Harborne
Colleagues are also reminded that several sections of the road adjacent to Harry Nursten, Hopkins, Harborne and Reading Scientific Services Ltd (RSSL) buildings will be closed from Monday 25 June until Wednesday 22 August.
The road closures will enable pipework to be carried out around the Hopkins building area, with work taking place over two key phases (Monday 25 June - Friday 20 July, and Monday 23 July - Wednesday 22 August).
Each phase will see different sections of road closed while work takes place. During the first phase (Monday 25 June - Friday 20 July), the road between Harborne and Harry Nursten will close temporarily. In the second phase (Monday 23 July - Wednesday 22 August), the closure between Harborne and Harry Nursten will reopen, and the road between the Harborne and RSSL buildings will close.
