Reminder: road closures between Harborne and Harry Nursten, 25 June - 22 August
Monday, 25 June 2018
A reminder that several sections of road adjacent to the Harry Nursten, Hopkins, Harborne and Reading Scientific Services Ltd (RSSL) buildings will be closed from Monday 25 June untilWednesday 22 August.
The road closures will enable pipework to be carried out around the Hopkins building area, with work taking place over two key phases (Monday 25 June - Friday 20 July, and Monday 23 July - Wednesday 22 August).
Each phase will see different sections of road closed while work takes place. During the first phase (Monday 25 June - Friday 20 July), the road between Harborne and Harry Nursten will close temporarily. In the second phase (Monday 23 July - Wednesday 22 August), the closure between Harborne and Harry Nursten will reopen, and the road between the Harborne and RSSL buildings will close.
Diversions for vehicles will be signposted as necessary. Car users should note that parking spaces on the road opposite the entrance to car park 10 will be unavailable while the works are taking place, in order to improve the flow of 2-way traffic.
The works will not affect routes for pedestrians and cyclists.
If you have any queries, please contact Ian Jones (extension 7289).
Coinciding works on and around Whiteknights campus
The works coincide with major maintenance work along Queen’s Drive, which affects travel through campus via the main entrances to Whiteknights entrances.
In addition, SGN will continue their gas pipe replacement work along Shinfield Roaduntil Friday 29 June. Traffic around Whiteknights campus has been noticeably busier through the duration of these works, which has caused longer journeys for those travelling into campus by car.
Please consider all of the information above when planning journeys to and from campus over the coming weeks.
