Carol Wagstaff appointed Acting Head of Chemistry, Food and Pharmacy

Carol Wagstaff has been appointed the Acting Head of Chemistry, Food and Pharmacy. She will start in this role on 1 August 2018.
Carol is a Professor of Crop Quality for Health in the department of Food and Nutritional Sciences. She has held a number of leadership positions since joining the University in 2007.
She is also the Director of the AgriFood Training Partnership – a consortium of six UK HE institutions – that delivers high-level skills and training for people working within the agriculture and food industries using a combination of face-to-face and distance learning.
Robert Van de Noort, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic Planning & Resource) said, “Carol is an experienced leader with a strong focus on collaboration and effective outcomes. I am confident that she will enable the school to continue to build on its successes”.
Carol Wagstaff said, “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to lead the School of Chemistry, Food and Pharmacy at a time when so many strategically important things are happening in the School, and across the HE sector. I am very much looking forward to working with all staff in the School to strengthen the links between departments and to build on the achievements already in place. I wish Parveen Yaqoob every success in her new role as Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research”
The Acting Head of School appointment is for one year, with a formal process to recruit a Head of School for Chemistry, Food and Pharmacy – for the normal term of six years – commencing in the autumn term of 2018.
